WELCOME TO THE AUGSBURG LIONS!

We are the Augsburg Lions , a flag football club from beautiful Augsburg. Founded in April 2018 as a student initiative, we have been playing as a university team at the University of Augsburg in German university sports and in the DFFL (German Flag Football League) league ever since.

Already in the first year (2019) we achieved a significant success by qualifying for the final day of the German Flag Football League (DFFL) and taking fourth place. Since then we have been among the national top performers and have established ourselves as one of the top teams in Germany. In the 2023 season we were able to improve further and reached third place in the Final8 of the DFFL (German Championship) . Another highlight of our young club history was winning the German University Championship in June 2023 with our university team.

Since November 2022 we have officially been an independent club , the Flag Football Club Augsburg Lions eV (FFCA) . In the 2023 season we took part in the game operations with two teams. In the 2024 season, four Augsburg Lions teams will already be taking part in league operations, including a women's team in the newly founded DFFLF (German Flag Football League Women) .

We have ambitious plans for the future, particularly the development of youth work and getting back into the top 3 in Germany. We are already taking all the necessary steps to achieve these goals soon.
